In this class, Mr Paterson talked about the things we can't have in our essays. For example, personal pronouns. In personal pronouns, there are I, my, me, you, you're, we, us, our and so on. I haven't really thought of these things when I write essays so I didn't know how much I am using it. So I went to my essay and see if I have used any of the personal pronouns. There were lots of time when I was using it so I was a bit surprised. I thought I need to fix it, so I used other words to connect to the next word. Mr Paterson also talked about contractions&Run on. In this section, there are things we are not allowed to use like writing "don't" as do not, and writing "can't" as cannot, etc, "and so on". I am kind of used to using these words so I believed there are lots of these words. However, when I try to find these words, there weren't any of them. In this class, we talked about a classical 5 paragraph essays. In my previous school, I had lots is chances to write essays with the basic 5 paragraph essays so I was familiar with the introduction, body paragraph 1, 2, 3 and the conclusion. I also knew that the first two paragraphs are for the hook, and also, there is a statement we say at the start and write the reasons in the body paragraphs so I thought we will write an essay with this strategy. However, it was a different way than I thought it will be. We are going to write an essay within our groups about the presentation we were working on for these few months. For the title, introduction and the conclusion is the same, but the body paragraph was different and that made me a bit confusing because I have never written an essay with the form we have to write with.
