Final Blog: 1 Year Reflection

Most of the things we did in the lesson this year, were all things I am weak at. For example, introducing ourselves, confidence in presentation, no hesitation in the presentation, making an essay, and so on. However, as time passes, I was able to learn many things that I wasn't able to learn in my previous school.

In semester 1, we first introduced ourselves in one minute and we had to say where we are from and what I like to do. I am really weak when I have to stand in front of the class and I always become nervous and forget what I need to say. In this task, I was able to say what I was planning to say but I hesitated a lot. 

Then we started our blog. I first thought it was really troublesome because we had to write a blog for each of the lessons and had to write before 3 days past. However, at the same time, I thought it was also an important thing because I can understand what I understood and what I thought in each of the things we did in that class, and also, we can go back any time to see what I learned.

Then we started our presentation. When I heard we had to do a presentation, my tension went down because I really don't like presentations. However, one thing that was better than other presentations is that we are in groups. I will rather be in groups than individuals because, in that way, I won't be nervous than I am when I am doing a presentation individually. After my group finished our presentation, of course, we didn't think it was perfect but we thought it was quite good, but there were a lot of things we had to fix and some bad things about my body language and I thought I have to make these better to be good at presentation. 

In semester 2, we made a website as a group and put all the things we have done in the class and some information we couldn't put in our presentations. To make a website, we used google sites but I have never heard it at that time so I didn't know how to use it. However, after I heard the explanation about how we use it, I thought it was really easy to use it. 

Some of the things we included on the website were our brochure, infographic and our academic essay which we made in semester 3. By making a brochure and infographics, the reader can understand our topic faster and easier than only our presentation and I thought it was important to have those things because not only the presentation has all the information and even if they didn't understand the presentation, they can go to our website and understand about our topic.

Then we did our presentation again with the same topic we did in semester 1. Even though I don't want to do it, I think this was really important because until now, I always said 'I want to do it better next time", but I never tried o improve it. So we made our presentation much better than last time with the feedback we got and practiced more because, in the previous presentation, we didn't practice that much so we didn't know what our teammates are going to say and don't know when to change the slides.

In semester 3, we didn't have much time because there were many days where there was no lesson and the school was canceled. However, we wrote essays as a group and individually about our topic for the presentation. I didn't want to do it because I am also weak at essays. My most weak part is the body paragraph because we have to write many things with one topic. 

In the body paragraph, we have to write in detail about the three content we presented in our previous classes. We first did an essay as a group and something that was difficult to me was that we had to write at least 8 lines otherwise, it won't be a paragraph. Another thing that was difficult was that there is a percentage of the AWL words and we had to make them about 8%-9%. However, I wasn't able to make it that high.  

The second essay we did was individual and this was difficult as the previous one because we had to add references in each paragraph. For referencing websites, we used Zotero which I thought Zotero was really useful because after I sited a page, it will automatically make a bibliography. Until now, I was making another document and make one by one but now, I know how to use Zotero so I will use it from now on as well. 

In conclusion, I thought this year's learning is really important because we can use this when we grow up. The most important part was the presentation because the way we move changes how the audience thinks about us and the presentation.
