June 25th

This class was the second day presenting our presentations. Today wasn't able to present again, and the reason for that is because we forgot to share our presentation. We thought this was one of our reflection points because we could have presented this lesson, and also, we wasted the other team's time of presenting which end up doing the presentation over time. I thought for the next lesson, we should be prepared perfectly because we have been seeing other teams getting caught about how they present. For example, we should have eye contact all the time with the audience. One other thing that is important is to make sure that we tell the audience how much time we put on this presentation.  We have about 1 week to prepare, so I think we could meet up and practice more as a group so that we all know what we are saying in our own part, and not hesitate.

June 24th

This day was the day we started presenting what we have done in the past 2 months. We didn't present today. In today's presentation, I think I understood how much this school needs to be improved, and why it needs to be changed. When I was watching other people presentation, Mr. Paterson pointed out some things that had to be fixed. For example, they can't look at the screen because it is for the audience and we should know what we are saying. Another thing is that when we change speakers, we have to say the next person's name and what they are talking about. After I watched those presentations and listened to the advise Mr. Paterson gave us, I thought that when we present, I want to be able to do all the things Mr. Paterson told us to do.

June 18th

In this lesson, we were able to work on our presentation for the whole lesson. We concentrated really well this lesson because we knew it was our last day to prepare for the presentation that is going to start next Monday. I am really nervous because I am really weak when doing a presentation and I don't like going to the front of the class. However,  I think it will change a bit because Mr. Paterson taught us how to present in front of people. In our presentation, we were conscious of not using letter because if we put letters too much, the audience will get bored and won't listen to our presentation, so we used pictures in all the pages and we are planning to explain during the presentation. We also changed little things like the place the words are. For example, in the title page of the first section, the word is in the top left. Then in the second section, it is in the middle, and the third section, it is in the bottom right. We changed these things because I thought this...

June 17th

In this lesson, we were able to work on our presentation for the whole lesson. We were quite behind so for this lesson, we concentrated on it this lesson. e have finished the title page and the outline that shows the 3 sections we are going to talk about in the presentation. Our title is the time allocation in TGUISS. The first section is called a vacation. I haven't experienced a long vacation in this school but when I looked at the schedule to see how long the summer vacation is. However,  it seems like it was a little short. So I thought our group could talk about this topic in one of the section. In the second section, we are going to talk about recess. This just means that we want more time in recess. In the third section, we are going to talk about the time we have to do our homework. We usually have homework every week which is due the day after or the next week (if it was an essay or a report we have 2-3weeks). We decided to do this topic because we all thought the same t...

June 11th

In this class, we started off with Mr. Paterson talking about how the presentation should be delivered to the audience. I thought this information was useful because I kind of learned that even though if the presentation was perfect, but the way we deliver was not good, we will get a lower grade. However, even if our presentation was not good but the way we deliver was perfect, we can get a higher grade. Then we had the rest of the time to work in the group. Our group has planned in another document about what we are going to put in the presentation. We started off with the title page. We got a picture where there are laptop, notebook and a blue pen. We couldn't really think of a specific title, but we just wrote something so that we have some ideas of how we are going to make the title page. We started off with thinking the angle of the words. We thought of making the same angle with the notebook or the laptop. Right now it is the same angle as the laptop, but we might change ...

June 10th

In this class, Mr.Paterson started talking about how many people mentioned about asking questions during the presentation. He talked about how sometimes good thing to ask audience questions, and how bad it is. I thought it was interesting because I never really asked questions in a presentation so I don't know what to do when I had to ask questions. Then we watched a video about creative common. This is because we had to put references in all the photos we used in our presentation. To connect with this, we talked about references. When we used the photos on google, we usually need to get permission to use it. However, not every time we will get permission, and that is why Mr. Paterson introduced us to some websites where there are photos that already have permission for us to use it. I thought these websites were really useful because it takes time to ask for permission to use it when we could just get photos we want and use it. Mr. Paterson also talked about how to make referenc...

June 4th

In this lesson, we talked about Google forms. I knew how to use it because I have used it before in my previous school. I also knew that after everyone finished answering the question, it will make a graph for us automatically. I thought I could use it somehow to collect data and show the graph of the result to prove something.   Then we talked about yesterday's presentation. We talked about the question Mr.Paterson asked in an email. It said, "How many slides do you think was in the presentation". I answered 15-20. However, there were 135 slides in his presentation. I thought that was a lie because I didn't feel like there were 135 slides. Mr. Paterson said that we didn't notice it because we were concentrating on the presentation and some of the slides, he went through it really fast. We also forgot how many videos were shown in the presentation because, during the videos, he was talking over it to explain the video.   Then in the last 10 minutes, we...

June 3rd

In this class, we started off with checking everyone's blog. I have done blogs for all the lessons, and there was a total number of 7 blogs. There were some people who didn't do some of the lessons and I was wondering why they don't do it every time. Then we were listening to Mr.Patterson's presentation. It was for about 20-30 minutes. When I was listening to this presentation, I knew he was going to talk about how a good presentation is like. After the presentation, as I predicted, he talked about what was the key point in the presentation. For example, when there are pictures, he left some space outside when he could just put the picture in a whole screen. This is because some pictures in his presentation, there was Mr. Patterson who was cutting wood and the background of the slides was like a color of the wood. I didn't notice this till he explains it. However, I didn't really know the effects of making it match if the audience doesn't notice it...
